This is a really wonderful stay. Beautiful old traditional house. Very comfortable and Ken the host was fantastic. Super helpful. Sit in the exquisite garden and relax after a long walk. The town is so lovely with restaurants by the river. Truly a wonderful night’s stay. We were sorry to leave. (Also Ken speaks English and French). Thank you for wonderful hospitality.

O-Yado Hiwasa is a beautiful, Taisho era house, which has been restored / renovated very tastefully. The house is comfortable with stunning artwork by the owner - reliefs on the interior walls etc. The super-hospitable hosts live in the house on the other side of the garden. There is a small kitchen for guests to use, with refrigerator, microwave, oven-toaster, gas range, kettle, washing machine and dryer (coins required). The izakaya across the bridge is reputed to be a good spot for dinner.
