Pilgrim Hut No.6 Shishikui

General Description: This hut is about 34km from Yakuoji (T23). It is 400m past the Michi-no-Eki “Shishiku Onsen" (Hotel Riviera) on Route 55 along the coast. The hut is built on stilts to secure a view of the sea on land lower than the road surface. From the inside, like a lookout, you can see the sea clearly over the highway. It is 750m from the Shishikui railway station and approximately 40 kilometres to Hotsumisakiji (T24).

The border between Tokushima and Kochi prefectures is about 1 km further along.

26/4/2019 Comments: The hut is not actually on the highway, but a few metres away on a small side road. The traffic noise might be problem if trying to nap.

It is in the built up area so is not isolated or dark at night. The hut would catch any sea breezes in the later part of the day and evening, so would be shady and cool in summer.

There is a cemetery across the road from the hut. The toilet block is an adjacent building and can be seen in my included picture.
