Rurikouji

This okunoin of T79, Tennoji, is a bit challenging to find, but it is a rewarding short detour. From T79 find the Emperor's Spring, where Sutoku's body was temporarily stored. Stop to enjoy the water, the body has been gone quite some time. Between the spring and graveyard is an overgrown foot path which clears further up the hill behind the tōri. Enjoy the melodic tinkling sound as your feet knock loose pieces of sanukite against one another on what I dub "The Musical Trail". At the top of the trail you will find the okunoin, two small structures. Walk back the way you came or spiral around Kaneyama on the paved road. Smile, you've just visited another special okunoin!
