Oyado Eleven is a small, no-frills hostel located just a short walk from Temple 11 (Fujiidera), making it an ideal overnight stay before the steep ascent to Temple 12 (Shōsanji). The building sits right at the base of the mountain trail, and its practical location makes it a popular rest point for walkers preparing for the pilgrimage’s first major climb.
The guesthouse offers both private and dorm-style rooms, with shared facilities including a kitchen, washing machine, and bath. Interiors are clean and simply furnished, and while amenities are basic, they’re tailored to the needs of pilgrims. A supermarket and a few shops are within walking distance, and there’s space to dry gear after rainy days on the trail.
Guests staying here and then at Sudachi-an the next day can make use of a convenient baggage service, which allows them to lighten their load during the hike to Temple 12 by forwarding luggage to Sudachi-an, a courtesy by Ryokan Yoshino. Check-in and check-out times are designed with early risers in mind.
The atmosphere is friendly and low-key, with plenty of pilgrim foot traffic passing through. Oyado Eleven’s straightforward setup and key location make it a practical and trusted stop for those tackling the mountain ahead.
